Will frequent rebooting harm the modem?

Hey guys,

I am using MTNL's Modem cum Wifi ROuter. I use JDownloader these days, and so have placed an auto reboot script which will automatically restart the modem once a download finishes so that I am allotted a new IP for the next download.

I wanted to know if there is any harm in doing so? I ask this because my previous modem (MT 882) conked off a few months after I started using a reboot script for the night unlimited downloads.. I don't know whether it was just a co-incidence, so I thought I should get that thing cleared.
