Will i loose my data if i update windows vista home premium to SP1?

Was thinking about updating/upgrade my windows vista to service pack 1.So will i loose all the data stored in my hard drive if i update to SP1 ? Will i have to re-install all the apps currently on my computer?? And is it really worth it to update to sp1 ? I mean the only annoyance i face right now is extremely slow transfer speeds:@
 
U will nt loose data if u do a update mate ,its like any normal update for windows and i personally suggest that u update windows , i have not faced any kind of issues after update.About the transfer speeds issues you are facing ,can u please elaborate, i mean what exactly is happening??

Upgrade to SP1 should not be a problem (it is recommended).
Have you tried another OS on the same comp with which the transfer speeds are better than with Vista? What are you basing the slow transfer speed you are facing in Vista on?
