Hi, I need to purchase an adapter for my Compaq CQ50 107AU laptop. Specs: 18.5V 3.5A 7.5mm Pin

I was using this, but it lasts only 3-4 months:

Is this HP ED494AA 65W Smart (with Connector) (Black) < HP ED494AA 65W Smart (with Connector) | Laptop Adapter | Flipkart.com > compatible with my laptop?? It mentions 18.5V and 3.5A, but i am not sure if the pin will fit or not.

HP/compaq laptops have only two adapters: thick pin or slim pin, yours is a thick pin adapter and the link in the first post looks compatible, if you are still not sure then get it from local shops.
 
Thanks I guess I will make the leap and buy it in the rare case it does not work then I will try to sell it on the forums
