Will this damage my phone ?

Well i recently bought an ad15 (pop port to 3.5 connector ). I had an old mercury pc speaker system lying around. It has it's own power supply .
Now i am using the speakers by connecting them to my phone. It is working very well , but i am afraid it can damage the ic of my phone.
Is this possible ?
 
Don't think so. I have been doing that for long time too. As phone is providing the same output. It doesn't matter whether it goes to either headphones or your personal speakers.
 
That advice is dangerous! Load is determined by the headphone/speaker etc! If the source cannot handle it and has no overload protection....
