protocols are same so shld work ... not much details is given on the site.

well nowhere does it say "ADSL2+" in the specs but its pretty standard these days so should work - but dont hold me to that :)

otherwise it has DHCP and PPPoE which is very good for ease of use and setup.

not sure about other features like VPN support, NAT/firewall configuration features etc...

can you search online for review on it?

btw why do you want to risk "urgently" buying an unusual device, why not get a known popular brand/model like linksys from local electronics store or something? i use linksys wrt54g wifi-G (router only) with my bsnl adsl modem and it works very well. you can get a linksys wifi router which includes adsl2+ modem also...

I need a modem and also a router.

i found this device on ebay and won the bid for 1800/-.

I read the user opinions on amazon.com and many are satisfied.

many on other forums do bring out some or other problem with this, though they were being resolved.

I guess this might be a bit difficult to configure.

so i am not clear about it.

Shall i settle for normal BSNL wireless modem?

My main purpose is modem next is router.

if unsure then just get a known brand like linksys which has adsl2+ modem cum wifi-g router all in one...

looks good to me. i think this is the standard model BSNL gives out to those who ask for wireless version...

yes.this one is standard wireless one bsnl offers.
have you compared both the models?

compared with what? i have standard BSNL provided non-wireless adsl modem ut300r2u model but bought linksys wifi router myself... "everything" works flawlessly on my BSNL 512kbps UL connection...
