cmon guyss need some help.................

why do i keep getting this error..

i just did a bit of googling and found a patch on microsoft and installed it.

now i jst gt the error a few mins back after using the net for 2hrs or so

its gt something to do with svchost.exe something....

plzzz helpppp my connection is useless if i cant keep my downloads on 24 X 7

Hmm...this seems to me more like a Trojan/Virus/Malware attack via ur internet connection causing multiple instances of svchost.exe to run and cause 100% CPU utilization which leads to a crash.

I suggest you get a good Anti-Virus if u are not using one already.
Also, download Lavasoft Adaware SE from the lavasoft site...google for it.
And, also tell if this same problem happens if you have ur internet turned off.

Get back after you have done this;)

Update the definations and run the scan.
This should ideally remove the same.
However, run the scan when not connected to the internet.
EDIT: It would also help if you posted a screenshot of the Task Manager.

ive got AVAST running and it does seem to keep on blocking some dcomexploit..

the problem only comes when i go online... ill install adaware and let u knw the result...

@priyoban
Are you using the connection with through usb

dude wht does it mean???

also will it help if i install zone alarm?? if so whts the safe way of installing it ...so tht it dosent mess up my connection settings....

Well...there you go, you said it yourself. The problem comes when u go online right. So, it has to be some sort of malware in your computer.
Try a different anti virus.
AVG is a free anti virus which you can get from AVG Anti-Virus and Internet Security - Welcome
Try downloading, install, update definiations and run a complete system scan when disconnected from the internet.

Also, as mentioned before, try Adaware Se from Lavasoft.

It will make a difference. Just blocking an application wont really help remove it from your computer. It may temporarily solve your problem but will not cure it.

As far as installing a firewall goes, it is very useful. However, like in your case, it did mess up settings at my place too. So I am now using the default Windows XP firewall. Something is better than nothing right?

Regular System scans, Cleaning of Temp and Temp Internet Files will help a lot in the long run.

It's the blaster virus.

Step-1 Download security task manager. google for it. Check for suspicious processes. Terminate them. Post a HijackThis log so we can help you identify the suspicious file.

Step-2 Locate the file, quarantine (delete) it. You can find it usually hiding in the c:/windows/system32 folder.

Step-3 Turn off system restore. Sometimes these b**ches end up hiding in the prefetch files and come back once you reboot.

Step-4 Go to run, type "msconfig" . Go to startup and then click the files that you have just deleted.

Step-5 Go to run. type "regedit"

Scroll to Hkey_Local_Machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run

There identify the suspected registry key. Delete it. Check the run once tab too and delete the thingy if its there.

Step-5 Update your anti virus (try AVG), download Ad-aware, update it. Run both of them.

Step-6 Restart your pc.

If the file refuses to delete itself, try safe mode or something.

These steps generally work with most of the stuff I've come across. Might help you.

ad aware couldnt catch anything except some tracking cookies.. double click etc... scaned my hdd with avast didnt catch anything either

will download avg and run a full scan...

and will try out ur suggestions also thanks

ok so i downloaded the softwear u asked me for and here are the results
it seems like all of the threats are softwears for my x-fi card
see if u can make anything of the results??
also attaching my task manager...
just wanted to ask are there suppose to be so many multiple instances of svchost.exe running together???

Yeah multiple svchosts are common. Sometimes you might see files misusing these names,

eg- SCVHOST.exe

NAVupdatez.exe
Stuff like that. I can't tell anything from your logs. Sholly.
