My optical drive is somewhat dead, it just reads cds and no dvds.
I have 2 hdds, one has xp3 and other win7 home premium.

Off late the win7 os got very slow and i decided to replace it with its ghost image created at the time when it was installed.....2yrs back.
And the ghost process went smooth. But soon after booting, it started giving foll, error:--

windows_7_error.jpg I want to troubleshoot this issue using win7 dvd or its usb ver.

A guy from te suggested me "Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool" as i already have the iso of my original os dvd on my pc.(the dvd now i can found nowhere)

The process was completed successfully on my 8gb pendrive, tried both kingston and transcend.

Now when booting from either of these pendrives, m stuck-up again as m getting the foll. err:-:(

I even disable both hdds and just tried booting from the pendrive alone but same error. In bios i tried all usb emulation options--fdd,hdd,cdrom,auto but no use.

But the same pendrive boots properly from my brothers laptop having win7 home basic. :annoyed:

Help me guys as m unable to install win7 nor its getting installed via usb drive and also my dvdwriter is dead.

Have you ever tried to boot the machine with USB because not all the MoBo support USB Booting. If you've not tried then try to search on the net whether it supports USB booting or not, if yes then it may have to do something with the Jumper (Master and Slave).

Yes it supports else it wouldnt have the option for usb booting. And where on earth are you talking about jumper settings for usb?

you can try YUMI for making a usb drive win7 bootable .
Also after booting repair the computer, to solve the error encountered after applying ghost image
