Win 7 mysteriously Hanging

Using win 7 from 2 or more months but had encountered a new problem from last 2-3 days..

after starting, computer runs well for 15-20 minutes, but then everything hangs up except mouse cursor..

no keyboard button works, not the right/left/scroll of mouse works.. only the mosue cursor movers..
and after 2-3 minutes even the cursor starts moving....

This is happening repeatedly everytime I run comp...

Guyz Plz Help.....

Could be that your system is over heating. Download CoreTemp, and monitor the temperatures. Once you minimize it, you shall see the core temperatures in the task bar. Usually when the keyboard stops responding (is the numlock toggling), translates to a CPU stop = system hang.

Also, sir, what is your system configuration...?
 
Core temp is showing temp as ~45C... is it high??

BTW config is quite decent..

AMD Phemon 9650 quad core processor.

Asus M3N78-EM board.. with some Nvidia GPU

2GB ram...
 
45 seems okay if you are running on a stock cooler. This is something else i believe. When it hangs up, does your hard disk activity light blink or turn on continuously?
 
ITs the RAM... use someone else's ram for a couple of hrs.. if it works well. alternatively use ur rams to see which stick is the culprit assuming you have multiple sticks.

Hmmm... would check it tomorrow morning.... this will also schedule the PC cleaning...

The surpirsing things I had noticed is..

1. This problem is happening only when my Internet connection is on..
Earlier I use to turn on net connection as soon as I run comp.. thus didnt noted..
however, toady for 2hrs in noon and 1 hr in evening I was doing some other work on PC and didnt turned net on... and surprisingly comp didnt hanged any time at that period...

2. Recently while I was browsing my music player was also on.. and even when comp hanged [the way told at starting] song kept on playing...

When the comp hangs the light completely goes off... neither it blinks nor it lit conterminously..
Guyzzz plz help.. the problem is really irritating..
 
Its definitely a virus . Check your startup applications in Run->Msconfig->Startup and remove all those which you didnt seems to install but are still there. Check the path of the files , find the files and check authenticity of the files by right clicking on the file -> properties -> summary.

Valid exes will always have a genuine company name etc. Where as trojans and viruses will always have incomplete information in summary and sometimes random characters too.

The problems seems to be mysteriously solved...:ohyeah:

Dont know which think worked... I tried bunch of them simultaneously..

took out the ram, thoroughly cleaned, putted on another slot... scan whole comp.. Unplugged all USB (read it on net)

and some changes in setting also..
 
RAM

Remove RAM
Clean modules by blowing air.
Clean RAM slots by blowing air.
Install back the RAM - Try.

Still doesn't work? Try using an eraser to clean the RAM contacts and checking your HDD connections.
