Hello folks

I have a WA3002G4 BSNL modem, and im trying to enable WIFI. I've added the settings in the modem admin page and it shows wifi enabled but windows 7 simply wont show any wireless network.

Im trying to connect to my ps3 but that is secondary i would like windows to show up wifi is working? what am i supposed to do guys?

post screenshots of wifi settings page or post configuration file(don't forget to remove username and password from it)

WiFi network you have defined may be hidden ... in that case it need to be manually added Windows or any OS

WiFi channel of your router and your WiFi adapter in PC may not be same

Other than these two I don't see any other reason for not being visible wifi network in Win7

i dont have a Wifi adapter for pc mate.

this is how iam connected.

PC ---> ADSL WIFI Modem (via ethernet) ---> Trying to enable Wifi.

Try connecting your PS3 directly to the router/modem with an ethernet cable. How will you have a wifi connection detected when you don't have any wifi card at all?? You must be connected to the modem from your PC through ethernet as well.

Put screenshots of the settings page here.. I think i could help you... (just learnt how to configure the BSNL thingy's from the guy who came to upgrade my connection !!!!) Remove the Username & passsword .. that's it...

Let me explain a lil better.

My pc doesnt have a wifi card so it was foolish of me to try to detect a wifi :).

Now there are two ways i can connect my modem to my pc.

1. Through ethernet, which is gonna include a lot of cabling.

2. get a router downstairs and then connect to my modem throught ethernet which again is gonna include almost same amount of cabling

all i want to know is, is there a third way make my PS3 detect my Modem without any wires involved? im ready to get a powerful modem if need be but is it possible?

In the above do you mean PC when you say PS3? Or are you talking about connecting both your PC and PS3 via Wifi?

How far away is the Wifi router (BTW calling it a modem is technically incorrect :)) from your PC and PS3?
If it is far from both maybe you could get a Wifi Dongle / adapter for your PC (your PS3 should be able to connect already right?)

Im talking of connecting my PS3 with PC via Wifi. I could get a dongle mate, but when the PS3 is not detecting my wifi Router (i stand corrected :)) how would it detect a puny wifi dongle?

I think you are talking about media server... I hope you are connected to wifi on PS3 without any problem.. its just that you can't connect to PC via local network over wifi and ethernet..

PS3 Media Server

if yes then this might help.. if not then please paraphrase..

Working Internet connection on PS3 is must to get connected to other devices on network..

Memnom, sorry for not replying to your PM.

First offf I'm not sure how your network is configured. IINM, you have connected the PC to the router through the ethernet cable and you are wanting to connect your PS3 using wifi. Are you able to connect the PS3 to the router through the ethernet cable? What is the model/make of the router?

I use a Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 router and is flashed with the tomato firmware and configured to automatically detect devices and connect to the internet.

@gannu, no worries mate. Pc--->Router (via Ethernet)--->PS3 (trying via wifi) the problem is my pc is on the first floor and my ps3 is on the ground floor. When i scan my ps3 for wifi hotspots it could not find my Router.

well yes i can connect my router to my ps3 but that would involve 23mts of Ethernet cable which im trying to avoid. any advice?

@kekerode, thanks for doing my job bru.

Well I don't know how you could compare a Dongle's wifi range with the PS3's. :)

Anyhow have you checked if when you move the PS3 closer you can connect to the Wifi router? i.e. it is not a range problem?
