Here's my question...is Windows XP SP 3 officially released????? i mean the the complete and official version and i m not talking abt Realease candidates or beta versions, i m talking abt the complete OS WIN XP SP 3 ...........

any answers wud really b helpful:S :(

in wikipedia i read that microsoft has officially released the RC verison build 3264

and they have alos mentioned they publicly released it on December 18...so is the release a RC verison or the complete verison?????????

Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) is currently in development. As of November 2007, Microsoft's web site indicates a "preliminary" release date to be in the first half of 2008.[26] A feature set overview has been posted by Microsoft [27] and details new features available separately as standalone updates to Windows XP, as well as features backported from Windows Vista (e.g. black hole router detection, Network Access Protection, Windows Imaging Component).

It's right there before your eyes! You're probably confused because it mentions that a 'Release Candidate' version is available. Well, an RC version basically means the end of the beta-cycle which in turn means no more new features. To quote wikipedia again:
Release candidate

The term release candidate refers to a version with potential to be a final product, ready to release unless fatal bugs emerge. In this stage, the product features all designed functionalities and no known showstopper-class bugs. At this phase the product is usually code complete.

yep I downloaded and installed RC1 a few days back. uninstalled it as it(usbehci.dll I think) gave some silly BSOD after resuming the computer from hibernation :@ . I did not feel any performance boost.
 
wikipedia's info states that the SP3 has over more than 1000 fixes. i hope they really live up to the claim...........and does anybody know anything abt DX 10 on SP 3??????????:S :(

with all due respect to u sir, i don't mean to offend or b condescending (i m calling u "sir" by looking at the age)try to stay on the topic. or u can share ur information.i'll take ur advice and reduce the number of ???s though :P
