CPU/Mobo Winchester Advice Needed

Nothing wrong in perticular as such.
But it had some minor issues.
The most annoying is the memory issue. IF in future you decide to upgrade your RAm and populate all 4 RAM slots on your motherboard, winchester switches to DDR333 , mode than DDR400. Thats loss in performance.
It dosent have SSE3 instruction support.
If you are buying new processor it makes more sense to get Venice than winchester.

Why do u wanna get a Winne when Venice is here.
Also Funky covered most of the points why Venice Rocks.

Get a 3000+ Venice , If you are from Mumbai get a 0517 [17th Week] its Overclocks like ne thing.

People here overclocked it to 3Ghz on there DFI and on ASUS reached 2.5 to 2.7

Venice ocs very well, thats the main advantage apart from the SSE3,which i think does not bring a big diff as far as its performance is concerned.....
In Winnies, the lower the model number, the better is its overclockability...like a 3000+ o/cs the highest (although not as much as the Venice)

Venice is a bit cheaper, depending on where you buy. In addition, it has SSE3 support.. also, 4 RAM modules is a joke on AMD Motherboards.... you really don't gain that much peformance from 2 more RAM modules. (I read this somewhere, can't quite remember where, but the performance takes a HUGE drop, especially because of the DDR333, but because of something else as well., you're MUCH better off to go with 2x512MB sticks than 4x512MB sticks.
