Window AC options - advice needed

Guys,

I have a Samsung 1 TON window AC, which is now 4 years old, has more noise and i think it consumes lot of power, more than the 1.5 Ogeneral grey i got in other room

I am planning to replace this with another 1 TON from a better brand and high star ratings,

Room is small, just got a single cot, PC and a treadmill. So i have planned to stick with 1 ton. Does 1.5 ton makes sense

Also, I am not going for Split, since i already got a window panel ready

** What are the best options i got and their market price

** How much electricity does it actually save with a good star rated AC if i run everyday for 5 hours a day

** Does this change serve purpose

** How much i can expect for my old AC

Small is a very relative term.

You have to calculate the area of the room & the height

Moreover, if it is a top floor & the walls of the room face direct sun during the day then also the cooling requirement goes up

Take these factors into account before deciding on the tonnage

Moreover the temperature you set for switching off the compressor also makes a lot of effect on the power consumed.
