Will Windows 10 Be Free for Windows Insiders?
Following an unfortunate miscommunication by Gabe Aul, Microsoft has been tying to eliminate this rumor to no avail. And the latest build, which is strongly believed to be the RTM version (see above), remains permanently activated, although no Windows 7 or 8.1 license is needed to run this installation.

If we can believe Microsoft, this build will eventually expire. In that case, they would have to deliver an update that will check for a valid license and introduce an expiry date or lock Windows Update, which would eventually render the system unusable. Meanwhile, a slim chance remains that Windows Insiders will receive Windows 10 without a license validation after all.
 
im running windows 10 rtm and i did a upgrade not a clean install and it was preactivated !! and there were 5 security updates in last 1 week

So is it better to use the version which is currently available or wait until 29th July to get the final rtm?. And mate is it possible to disable the updates in the current leaked version?
 
well im not using a leaked version, im using the RTM provided to me by microsoft themselves for testing purposes (no this is not the insider program), and this will be the version which will release to public on 29th

i already had windows 8.1 installed and i did an upgrade cos i wanted to preserve current data and customizations to the OS, and that is why it was pre-activated , when you do a clean reinstall it will ask you to activate for sure (which i will do at a later point)

Currently theres no way to disable update you can only postpone the installation post download

Ultimate version is stopped in Windows 8 itself. It's just a name and may be ms thought it can include all the features in the professional edition itself rather to mint money for extra additional features in the name of ultimate edition.
 
Any suggestions for the following issue I'm facing?

Speedtest is slow for me on my desktop with ethernet connection to a router with Airtel 4G dongle. I get 5-10 mbps there. Strangely my 2 laptops get 20-25 mbps results when they're connected via wifi.

It's an old desktop with Intel DP35DP motherboard and I tried TCPOptimizer.exe as well as reinstalling old Intel network drivers as well as Microsoft driver from 2011 (latest one).

It might just be the Dovado router but wondering if anyone has any suggestions...
