Windows 7 Build 7600 - thumbnail issue.

I have noticed this minor but annoying problem in Windows 7, in picture folders it rebuilds thumbnails every time i reopen the folder. I tried checking the 'save taskbar thumbnail previews' thing in visual effect settings, but no change.

Anyone else having this problem?
my newbie attempt at a screen capture of the problem :p

It is not "rebuilding" thumbnail cache...it is just reading from the already created one & checking if it needs to update. Windows Vista and 7 changed the way they store thumbnail cache. In XP we used to have thumbs.db in every folder with pictures/videos but now vista/7 create a centralized database in your user folder. Every time you open a folder with loads of pictures or videos...windows reads from that database and checks whether it needs any updates. For this small amount of time in which windows is working, it shows the green bar.

OTOH if you want to disable the thumbnail cache altogether, then you can follow the following link. It is about Vista but should work in Windows 7 as well.
