Windows 7 crashing problem.

I have dual boot xp and windows7 but recently windows 7 has started giving some problems.

Now it crashes frequently during the first boot.After the restart it boots well.(XP shows no such problems)
I have no idea whats the problem.can anyone please help.

See if problem happens in safe mode. if no, i think its time to do an format. else its a driver problem.

Does it crash at the logon screen or afterwards, at the first boot.Do you have any gpu ?

guys it crashes after the logon screen.Btw no it dosent crash at the safe mode.At first boot only with bsod.This problem was never there before.

Download a software named 'whocrashed' , and then analyze the system minidump files through it . It may point out what is causing the crashes.

I would suggest you to try startup repair using windows 7 setup DVD , also please try removing extra peripherals and then try bootup.

Get into the safe mode and try removing all the installed drivers and check in the normal mode...

If that doesnt work out migrate to the last post...
