Hello, I had upgraded my ram few months ago to Corsair XM2 800mhz (2 Strips x 1GB) ,have overclocked proccy @3.7Ghz using only multiplyer (chk signature below for full config)
but in windows experience index rating my ram rating is only 5.5 in Win 7, while in Vista it shows 5.9 (Proccy not OC at this time)

Why did the ram rating decrease?
Is it affecting my performance ?
Do i have to tweak some settings?
Please advice.

Chk out screenshots

(Vista)(Ram Rating 5.9)

i guess vista might have ben give a better rating for ur ram

i.e for e.g when vista was released ur ram was new and nice one so it was given a better rating

now that win 7 has released ur ram might have been given a lesser rating coz new ddr3 rams have come

but ur ram performance will be the same only

Nothing definitive, but most I can think off, both OS's see the memory via different methods. That is why you have a variation in the scores.

I guess you are right. Thanks.
currently my ram timings are 5-5-5-18, now m headin to overclocking section to get some assistance on tightening ram timings:bleh: , i dont know anything on this.

Thats a first, the scores on my older pc were bottlenecked always by the HDD.
Would like to see the score of a member who has a SSD.

In Vista the max score you can get was 5.9, but this is not the case in Windows 7, in Win7 you can get a max score of 7.9.....According to vista, you were using THE best RAM available, but this is not the case with Win7....
