Windows 7, networks keeps disconnecting

I finally took the plunge from XP to Windows 7 and like it, but have this weird problem where my network(and by extension, my internet) keeps disconnecting whenever I run a fullscreen application or leave it with a screensaver. I disabled the "turn off when not being used" power feature, but the problem still persists. Any ideas?
 
I think that the disconnection is not caused by the maximizing the application but rather by the application or some other process. Can you give an example as to what application causes this? Also, do you have an antivirus installed in your PC?
