actually the above problem is in my friend's pc and in my pc too i am having IGP but i can utilise full 4gb ram. Why so ?Desecrator said:Your IGP is sharing the rest of it.

You can also try one more thing. Shut down the computer and reset the CMOS. Then BOOT with only one DIMM. Then shut down, and plug in the secondary. By the way, I have it the other way round. Win7 interface shows 6 GB ram and then in brackets 4 GB usable.
What does CPU-Z show for you..?
