Windows 7 Take Ownership issue

I have some folders with files that I am not able to access. When trying to access, it says that file access denied. When I try to set my self as the owner, it seems to work, but still cannot access. I also tried the 'Take Ownership' registry hack, but of no help.

Now, although, the stuff in it is trivial and not very important, I would like to have access to it if possible.

Any help?

right click file or folder then properties > security >advance>permissions here try removing all old users and adding yourselft as owner worked for me

Tried that too. Not working.

The main reason I want the files is that they were part of my attempts to RE a J2ME jar file to try to decode it.

Enable administrator account from Computer Management> Local Users & Groups > Users & then login as administrator & try accessing the files.

If possible post screen shots of the security permissions.

Got damn fed up of this, just formatted the entire drive and installed Windows Server 8 'Beta' on it.

Problem resolved

Thanks to all you, anyways.
