Windows 7 + Tata Plug to surf = no connection? how to

Good new is Windows 7 works great on desktop (64 bit).

Awesome news is Windows 7 also works on samsung nc10 on par with xp.

Bad news is i cannot access internet coz tata plug to surf usb modem does not work with windows 7 (32 and 64 bit). If some one knows how to get it done pelase help. The problem is "modem driver not installed"? how do i avoid this.

the exact model is SCX 1080 epivalley something...

Do you have the Vista drivers for it? You might be able to install them. Perhaps by running the installer in compatibility mode, if all else fails.
 
i tried using the compatibility mode with admin rights.... i tried vista mode, windows xp mode heck i even tried windows 2k mode.... nothing works... on both 32bit and 64 bit versions...

this is my biggest problem.... i cannot revert to vista as its not that good like windows 7.. also going back to xp means going back to 32bit.. all apps and stuff....

was thinking if there is a hack to install the drivers and then connect through pppoe something..???

it installs flawlessly but when i open the dialer, it detects as no modem driver install...

might be that the dialer aplication cannot detect the modem with drivers... dunno.. but the modem drivers are not detected by the dialer...
