this is quite surprising..not a lot of diff...

win7=xp which are slightly bettr than vista

I think Microsoft needs to release official gamer edition.

See Win7 & Vista come with lot of Technology Advancements and enhancement towards security, due to which the OS becomes kinda bulky. However if Microsoft Comes out with Light Edition than it will be great.

shabaaz - correct a light version or a version that you can cancel/deactiv all stupid things/processes etc.

There are some modded Vista Light OS which are distributed, however you can use it by entering your Vista Product key, however officially there is no support for it from MS as it is an custom mod.

If you follow my guide you can successfully disable many not required components, disable not remove using DISM and that would make it lighter and use less resources so you have plenty for your game

I wonder how much it would help except removing Aero stuff and a few services may be. I mean Microsoft rewrote the kernel for improving Windows Vista so those security features might not be things that can be easily disabled. But then again, hackers can do pretty amazing things :yeah:
