I have a query about bitlocker.if i encrypt my whole 500gb external hard drive with bitlocker with password
1.can I access it on somebody else's laptop which may or may not have windows 8.?
2.If i format windows 8 on my laptop and fresh install windows 8 can i acess it on my computer??
3.If i install windows 7 or linux or some other OS instead of windows 8 can I access the hard drive??
 
To access BitLocker encrypted drives, you need to have Windows Vista or newer OS. However, only Vista ultimate, 7 ultimate and 8.x pro allows encyption of drives. other SKUs only allow viewing of drives.
