Windows ME quick shutdown

Hey guys, I am facing lot of issues while shutting down my system (Windows ME) as I get a dialog saying program not responding. I want to know if there is any way to implement the 'autoendtask' registry hack in Windows ME similar to XP? I am using both ME and XP. Please help me in solving this issue...Thanks in advance :hap2:

Hey man, if forgot to mention 1 thing! :P, all that i do on my PIII is possible because of my superfast Sparkle GeForce FX 5500 256Mb :hap2:. I have played GTA: Vice City, San Andreas and UT 2004 at 1024x768  in direct 3d :hap2:.

Btw, any suggestions to hide the end program dialog box? :ashamed:

If that is epic..What will be the name of my system config could be :S

slot type PIII 500,

128mb ram,

sis 6326 4mb agp card with Tv out

als 4000 sound card,dax modem,

asus intel 440 bx board,

LG cd rom (still working)

samsung cd writer 5 years old

samsung speaker (still working)

Hard disk (40 gb new one)

LG 14 in crt

samsung MM keyboard.

mouse (changed)

Running on win xp

I still remember when i was studying BE, I bought component cable 15 meters in length and soldered the pins, same for audio cable. We didnt purchased any CD player. When ever we want to watch movie i take the tv out from the pc and connect to TV av in and audio in. It was the joy that time.

I dont know what to say..nothing has been failed for the past 9 years except HDD. I gave a athlon x2 for my dad, hence the system goes to my sister's place to continue his duty.

Hey guys, this is not a show-off thread! :S, anyways I got the solution. Here it is:

Open registry (type regedit in Run box)
then go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop", in the right side pane create a new string value called "AutoEndTasks" without quotes and set its value to 1. To disable change value to zero...thats it :hap2:

Cheers,
