This is old news but i surprisingly found no mention of this in here . Microsoft is set to release its new mobile OS platform "The windows Phone 7 " . This will be a complete overhaul of its mobile platform . It will be integrated with Xbox Live , Zune and Bling service and will also have DirectX9 support .
The user interface named "Metro" has been completely changed and resembles that of Zune HD .Contents are organized via "hubs" which combine both local and online content .This will be released by the end of this year .

Low Cost version
Microsoft has indicated the possibility of it developing a low-cost, Windows Phone 7 based device designed for emerging markets. The low cost smartphone would be targeted at users from developing countries and would come with the advantage of a lower price, when compared to a "full-fledged" Windows Phone based phone. In fact, if all goes well, you might as well see the handset in flesh by early 2011.
