Who uses Windows Server 2003?

before making this stupidest quote, u must know that this patch applies to x64 version of XP as well. & there are so many enthusiast people who use x64 widely now. As for 2k3, though I'm not personally in favor of using it as desktop OS, there are so many people that find it faster, stabler, more manageable than XP.

my thx to thexfactor for posting this info, for the first time I saw some news on TE prior to a news feed that comes to me daily.....:cool2:

Whether "Genuine Advantage Validation" check will be done for this too??? like it does for installing SP2 on Windows XP...

Anybody installed it ???

I strongli dis-recommend installing SP2 on a currently RUNNING OS. I know for servers it will be alot of hassle but still I prefer slipstreaming SP2 into the setup & then clean installing the OS again with the service pack integrated.

There are a lot of compatibilty issues that rise up, most likely network related crashes & appz becoming unsable after installing SP2.

the best way is to slipstream, install fresh, & then install all appz with there latest & new versions. People running domains & critical servers sh'd wait a month or so for the responses & workarounds to pop-up for some possible failures that may come up.

& yes the "Genuine Advantage Validation" won't be an issue if ur using SP2 slipstreamed.:)
