I am looking to purchase Windows Vista for Home Use.

1. Whats version/pack do I go for?
2. Where do I get the best Price and what would be the price?

Home premium is the way to go. About price, i dunno how much it costs.

For home use, I assume u want the eye-candy of course, so you need Home Premium version.

An OEM copy from a dealer will be cheaper but comes with its own set of restrictions etc.

A retail copy will cost you. Someone posted a site a few days ago selling MS products, search?

offhand, 5-6k for OEM n ~10-12k for retail? very large approximation here from me, so dont hold me to it, but the price ranges shud b correct.

Also, if u kno a MS employee, thats the cheapest price

Vista Home Premium is available from theitdepot.com for Rs.4745/-. (plus Rs.60/- shipping) Though not specified at their site, it is most likely an OEM edition.

WTF....Vista OEM legally allows just one Motherboard to be used

go for home premium 64bit,if u have 64bit hardware to use it properly..and if u want or have 4GB ram.....it will be available for around 4.5 to 5.5k

if u have descent hardware and if u want to enjoy full multimedia...I RECOMMEND VISTA 32BIT or 64BIt SP1 with 2gb or 4gb respectively....it costs 9.5 to 10K...

Err why not wait a few days and get windows 7, its rumoured to RTM in august..
