if you are confortable with the idea, take your k/b apart and give it a thorough wash (not the membrane though. just clean the membrane with a dry cloth)

HI Kumar
thanks for reply...

but as i said key board is new so it dont think its membrane issue .... and more over when i restart it the key with error changes

i mean if its right now alphabet "D" then after restart it could be "2"

if its dirt problem then that shouldnt happen

try connecting on a nother computer and check..if its giving the same problem then ull definitely have to change ur keyboard or if it doesnt then reinstalling xp is ur best option i guess....

umm i changed my key board last one.....

before i changed it i ripped my old key board cleaned nicely and used but same problem... so its not definately hardware issue....

and device manager says no error either in keyboard... so the conflict is elsewhere

If you are using the PS/2 connector for the keyboard then try one with a USB connection and check if problem persists. Also carefully check if any keys on keyboard are sticking.

There is a software to check the keyboards " Passmark Keyboard Test" this will tell you if any keys are defective. Keyboard test software - PassMark KeyboardTest

it is a PS2.... now USB means a new key board..... well in between my two keyboards i also had changed my motherboard though

nah sticking dirt etc aint problem
