Windows XP Not Installing

Motherbaord: M2N68-AM+

CPU: Athlon II X2 240

RAM: Old 1 GB DDR2 667 Mhz

HDD: Seagate 320GB

DVD: HP DVD 260 SATA

Every thing is brand new except RAM

Problem: Windows not installing, Some of the files are not copying

Tried other windows xp Pro CDs!!

RAm seems to be problem try with other ram.

any operating system running currently?if yes then the problem isn't with the RAM

huh :O whats the error msg that ur getting ? how is it that the ram is being blamed just cause its old :|

Its a hard disk problem, your problem is the same which currently I am facing for 1 PC. So the culprit is the hard disk, IMO.

u hav to make a another copy of windows in which u hav to insert amd drivers....i can't recall the software right now...i've done this to install xp on one of my friends athlon based laptop.

even i had faced the same problem when i tried to install xp in my system

system config is

AMD phenom 3 550 B.E

asus M2A74-AM

320 gb WD hdd

2 gb transeund ram

even i have created the similar thread check tht thread..i have to some diff replied it may work

Some question before we can help you

*Whiling Installing XP, what Error you get?

* the HDD and DVD are SATA interface or IDE? for sata you need to load sata driver specific to your disk controller.

* did you check the CD is that works other PCs?
