Its a quite old news now..but since I dont see any thread related to that I am posting it.

Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) provides new proactive security technologies for Windows XP to better defend against viruses, worms, and hackers along with increased manageability and an improved experience for users. Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3 fixes a range of bugs in Windows XP. It doesn't matter what XP updates you have previously applied to your system, SP3 will update any unpatched, partially patched or completely updated system (it includes all previously released patches and updates). XP SP3 fixes the security holes so you won't get attacked.

It is meant for approved bete testers only..but the file is already flooding the p2p world.Public beta will be out shortly

anybody tried it yet??system stable after installing this??would like to know a few opinions before installing this...
 
its a pre beta version...RC means release candidate.These kind of releases are not for general public...meant for beta testers, programmers and so on...and in general this releases should never be installed on a productive machine as they can be full of bugs..

If you want something more stable then wait for the beta version
 
^ No, Release Candidates are better than any Betas or Alphas. Many times RC's are re-packaged and released as the final product.
 
"Release Candidates" the word itself means this version is proposed eligible to be a final build, but a final revision & testing is being done in real world.

I don't think the final SP3 will be out before Vista SP1, sometime March 2008 should be the date of release
 
Installed it and noticed Hardly any Change in my Pc's performance..........

I suggest wait for Final version which releases in 2008.

This release was for Testers.... btw.. Thanks for reporting.. Any changes you've experienced?? In look?

if there is any bug at beta one :S

when will they release sp3 i think next year
 
I just tried it out and it's working great for me, everything open up instantly and system feels much more responsive ... though I'm yet to try out any games on it
