A friend of mine, frequently shifting base in pune wants to go for wireless internet/broadband that ideally has
1) low initial cost of installation and minimal to zero relocation charges(keeping in mind frequency of relocation)
2) casual user download speeds (say 100 Kbps ~ better than dial up and steady), limit of around 1 gb/per month at price equivalent to that of wired broadband like BSNL
he was evaluating reliance wimax since the installation takes 2 days but i have negative feedback such as
- it uses line of sight transmission
- dynamic IP .. u first struggle to get an IP assigned to ur machine, and if you are thru with that, then u might not get good speed because a building might come up in a few months between ur antenna and the tower
- terrible customer care in pune
What are the options here? data cards, gprs internet with cell phone or should he simply go for wired BSNL if the wireless options work out more expensive and give bad performance for the price?
