I need to get a wireless net connection for myself to game as my hostel will not allow me to get a wired one. I was thinking of either the Tata Photon+ or the Reliance USB broadband connection.

Anybody has any experience playing games online on them? I want to play TF2 and need decent pings to Indian/SG servers.

5-10GB limit will be fine for me as I will not be downloading anything on these connections.

I have Tried Using Tata Services, You will lag and Lag bad. It is never recommended to go for Wireless if u wanna game.

Never used Photon, Maybe it gives no lag.

If you really want wireless then broadband (cable) > wireless router Ftw! I play battlefield 2 and the pings are really the same if not better than a cable connection. Not sure how the WWAN networks fare while gaming.

In wireless, only wi-max connection will have good enough pings to play games online. but for that you should have the wimax tower near to your place, also you can't hide it since antenna has to be placed in open. no idea about newer high speed plans eg. photon+, net connect etc.

other way is to get a wired connection, then use a wireless router to get it to your computer.

How about tikona if it's available in your area? Some very good plans and completely wireless using wifi accesspoint. Don't know about pings though.

I'm currently using TATA Photon+. Its will give you very good speed but the pings are really high otherwise its awesome for bb gaming.
