Wireless LAN (Dataone) between Desktop & Laptop

My cousin bought a new laptop, so now he wants to move his music, movie... collections from Desktop (dt) to Laptop(lt).

the size of the collection is around 200GB.

He has Dataone connection, a wifi modem.
his dt is connected to modem thru cable.

OS: both run Windows 7, but LT has 64bit version.

The thing is, DT can access LT's public folders, but LT cant access DT's.

When tried to open DT in "Network", it returns a error for him, 'cant access...dt'.

Is using a cross over cable to copy the things better? or creating & using a Homegroup would be easy?

One more thing,
LAN + gaming; 2 PC's 30feet apart

i need some help in having LAN between two PC's which are ~30 feet apart.

can a crossover cable be used to do the job?

they want to play video games, Counter Strike, Unreal...

one of them has dataone limited plan & win XP :D

Yup, you can transfer using a crossover cable. In fact, I was able to transfer my data ( from desktop ) to my bro's laptop using the default cat5 cable that came with the dataone modem. :)
