Laptops wireless net connection through laptop??

I want to buy a wireless modem for my laptop.... ie the attachment used to connect to the internet using a sim card. I need suggestions and aprox price. Where do i get it? Prime ABGB doesnt stock them and a few others in Lammy havent heard of this.:huh:
Also which service provider can give the best service in Bombay?
 
if ur lappy doesnt have a PCMCIA card..

then get a USB modem from TATA indicom and reliance(new launches)

i heard from some one on this forum that they get good browsing speeds on USB modems ..
 
but the laptop is goin to stay in a hostel. I am not allowed personal landlines there. Neither can i get broadband there. So lookin for wireless options.

so reliance/indicom usb modem this looks like a good option. ny details?

LOL, when I said phone in my post above, I meant your cellphone

(nearly) Any GSM/CDMA phone can be used as a datacard too

People opt for the PCMCIA card option to avoid carrying cables around, In your case, I doubt if you would mind a small cable running from your (cell)phone to your laptop
