Objective

does it have a 4 port switch also if yes plug a straight cable from ur PC's

lan card into one of the free ports.

Assign proper IP address.

for eg.

Router

Pc

IP : 192.168.100.2

Subnet: 255.255.255.0

Laptop

IP : 192.168.100.3

Subnet: 255.255.255.0

Now open console using start > Run > cmd

- Type "ping 192.168.100.2" on the laptop to see if u r receiving packets

from the PC.

- Type "ping 192.168.100.3" on the PC to see if u r receiving packets

from the Laptop.

If u r getting replies that means ur wireless lan is setup.

Then right click on any folder or drive which you want to share and enable

sharing.

to open the shared folder

start > run > type "\\192.168.100.X\name_of_shared_folder"

where X = 2 or 3 the pc or laptops ip address where u have shared the files

If you say your Lappy connects your router .. I assume your PC also connects to router (LAN) then you are there. If your PC is not connected to router then you may get ready for a technical session .. which TE experts are gonna post here :)

Give us more information about your current network connections and model of the router. We can guide you more specifically.

yes this is the baby & even the color is same:bleh:

i did'nt mess up with the router config page as it is in Chinese:S but by default the router is in DHCP mode so it takes care of Ip addressing. by router has a address of 192.168.1.1 & the router automactically gives the addreses starting from of 192.168.1.100, 192.168.1.101 and so on....

i tried pining the router from both my pc & my laptop & there is success:D but i can't ping my pc from my lappy & vice versa:(

Tell what else details are needed

my lappy connects to router via wireless & pc connects to router via lan port at the back of router, i tried to give all the details but still if some thing is left then mention is explicitly

[update] i can ping my pc from my lappy but can't ping my lappy from my pc

my pc' ip = 192.168.1.100

lappy ip = 192.168.1.101

subnet = 225.225.225.0

i think there is partial connectivity.
