Wireless setup for my Home

Hi Guys,

I have a Netgear dg834g ADSL2+ G modem router. The wireless range is pretty bad. I get very bad reception if i leave my room on first floor. Absolutely no signals in the ground floor

Please suggest some good routers. Need wifi access in my house (2 floors 30x50 ft build area).
 
Just want a basic router with good range. No need for NAS, ftp support, etc...

Looking in 2-3k range. I think Asus RT-N12 fits my requirements. Anyone using it??
 
I'm using Asus RT-N13U. Got it for 3k. Not very sure about the range though. Although, am happy with the setup. Was really easy.

RT-N13U has a USB port where you can connect a printer, an external hard drive or a 3G modem. Look if the price difference over N12 is worth that extra feature.
