Forgot to mention an important point. I had updated to watchOS 9 public beta to start using the new exercise and sleep features in advance. However, Apple does not allow a downgrade of watchOS.

watchOS9 only works with iOS 16, so it needs the public beta on the iPhone as well and will not work with iOS 15.

So, you will have to install the beta profile from Apple and update to iOS 16 beta to use the watch. iOS 16 beta is quite stable in itself but few of the bank apps that rely on OS version checks or specific Safari versions don't work yet.

The alternative is to downgrade to watchOS 8 at a service centre which is free but will require a visit.
 
Final price reduction. WatchOS 9 has grown a lot on me.

Have been experimenting with dual-wristing which isn't as bad as I thought. Would have preferred something much slimmer for just health tracking. At least glad I don't have the larger version.
