XS member NiscoPT just set a new 939 world record pushing his Opteron 146 socket 939 to 3.68Ghz!
And hes just on a modded mach1!

In case you havent heard about those new socket 939 opteron miracle chips and the hype that built up around them during the last days here is a short description of the situation:

Amd recently released their 939 opterons wich work in any 939 desktop mainboard. It turned out that the first batch of those chips are using the same cpu dies as FX-57 chips!
But they only cost around 200$ :D

for some 3dmark results of Niscos overclock and more opteron 939 results check these links:

Btw, will this be a Good Server?

Like a Dual 939 Opteron or something is possible??

Its looks like a better deal than me going with Two Opteron 246's or 250's.

One thing that i noticed from the CPU-z Screenshot is that it shows opteron
as S940 where as this is a S939 Proccy.

I have no idea on Server Configs so cant comment.

The Opteron 2xx series are designed for 2-way operation i.e. dual proc operation. Opteron 1xx series are intended for single proc use, you cannot run two Opteron 1xx procs.
