Usage is usual home (parents/wife/kids) use, net surfing, watching movies, playing games once in a while. What do you think? Should I go ahead?
If I go for an assembled one with the same config, how much would it cost?

go for assembled....P4 HT is passe now....go for c2d or amd x2...may fall a lil bit above 30k...but worth way more then this rig

:) Assemble it...These people are just trying to sell legacy stuff. First of all it is remotely not even worth 49k. So you are not getting a deal at all.

The deal of buying P4 with HT is not that much worth. I think u should go for DualCore, Core2Duo or AMD X2 if u want better performance. Rahter than having branded one, go for the assembled one. It will cost u cheaper than branded system.

assembled for the same config wld cost nearly the same....xp home brings the price up a bit....wld still suggest that u get a c2d, or x2 by spending a lil more....

If you want good support along with a pc, then forget assembled and go for this offer. Even though an assembled PC will definately be cheaper, buying a branded PC generally gives you better service.

If you get expensive stuffs from Reputed Brands in Assembled Machine, then I am sure you won't face any problems even in Assembled Machine. What people do is buy cheap Motherboards and RAMs of Chinese Brands and then complain that Assembled PCs are not good. Take help in Forums in building your PC and I am sure you won't regret.
