Health & Fitness Would any of you be interested in wild pure honey? Direct from source.

Have you got any approx shipping charges and how much in gms is 500 ml? Because retail honey is sold by weight.
I'll be honest, I don't know anything about the shipping charge. Which is why I said according to buyer's preference and that they can pay whatever the amount comes to. A very transparent process. Speedpost would be good if you don't want to spend so much and there are some who wants dtdc and fedex. I'll make sure I packed it properly.
As for the retail weight, it's not pure so you can see those solid lumps. I assume those give extra weight. Let me weight this Dabur honey later and let you know.
I am guessing due to density, 500ml may be more than 500gm? Just assuming.
I actually wanted to know this one too. I want to go today and pick them up and weight them.
Because travelling takes a toll, I want to buy the honey first with my money. Then I'll sell as per order or requests. I cannot go everytime someone wants one. If anyone backs out I'll just give them to my mother so she can give them to her office friends. They prefer the more expensive wild honey but this one is also pure so still worth it imo.
Thanks for all the interest. I'm out.
I'll send the bank account details later. Will reply to PM's then.
I just finished replying to the PM's. Its like everyone ran away after seeing the costs lol. Its alright. Your money your choice. Just don't buy those retail ones lol.
Update:
Accepting all payment by 10-10:30 am tomorrow if you want me to ship by tomorrow (19th Saturday). If not it will have to be Monday (if I return early) or Tuesday.
Thanks.

Latest update: no payment has been received from anyone so all shipping will be delayed till next week. I'm leaving tomorrow for the third village and will be out of touch till I return.

@iPwnz I know you mentioned that you are not sure of shipping charges but it would be great if you can get some details on it since it gives a clear idea to buy how much he has to pay in total.

@iPwnz

first check which courier service accept liquid items OFFICIALLY... India Post & various other services, most probably won't accept liquid (if you disclosed same to them)
Speedpost accepts it. And other couriers should too as well. Their main concern is if there will be leakage and if the item is fragile. It's honey not water so it's just not going to flow around. It will be packed in plastic bottle. And the package will be properly packed.
All verbal and written votes are fakes, people actually vote with their wallets.
True. But it doesn't affect me that much tbh since I have people lining up for it in the office. I got another order from our driver today for 1L. Thank goodness for the rarity. Tbh we can find pure honey during it's season here but you guys may not get even if you look for it being in the cities and I know that many buy those retail ones. That's why I shared if any would be interested. And if you are curious, business wise I'm barely going to break even here (well "barely" might be an exaggeration). Edit: More orders I get more money I save so it depends. I'm going to stay for two days and try to find as much as I can.

I'm shipping some on Tuesday. Then I'll know.

Btw guys, I'm leaving tomorrow in the morning. So I'll be out of network coverage area from tomorrow.

I just reached home. Something urgent came up. I'll try to ship all pending orders (already paid for) tomorrow or next.
Not taking any more requests till further update. Also, new update will have new updated prices (wild honey will have a much higher price now and out of my hands, sorry in advance). No change on orders already paid for.
Thanks a lot for the support.

Something happened while I was out of station. A very close relative of mine, a cousin brother and someone whom I considered a loving little brother died when I was in the hills. I didn’t hear the news in time due to the lack of/poor network coverage. I heard it only the following day when I went to drop someone off. So I had to take some time off though I feel that I need more time off to get over everything which have happened so far.

Anyway back to topic, looking for pure honey is much harder and time consuming than I thought - first lesson (I know that I talk or rather type a lot but I'm going to keep it as short as possible though it may not work lol). Heck even looking for farmers who deal in only pure honey isn't easy. For 100% certainty you have to be there and it takes a long time to harvest it and I cannot be everywhere just to get half a litre of honey so I did what I could. I also managed to find some villagers rearing wild bees giving honey. They are really small smaller than the ones which I've seen. They said this bees are rare and gave the best honey. I asked them to harvest some for me and got two bottles of 750ml each. For some reason they use only 750 ml rum bottles.

The journey:
As I said in one of my older posts I visited multiple surrounding villages and talked to a lot of people who we thought might have an idea or two availability of pure honey.

Below is one such journey I went to with one of my uncles. We started off at about 4:30 to 5am. My uncle said we will be late if we go any latter (i.e. 6 am or worse). This is how the early morning weather in the village looked. It was so damn cold omg. Lesson: always prepare for the worst weather!

After hours of walking we finally reached the foothills.
The bottom-right is a pic of a hollow tree trunk with a hive inside. My uncle blocked the hole by covering it with a lot of leaves while he chopped the lower area of the trunk.

Before and After. It was our not-good-luck as this particular hive was only recently made so it was still very white and had nothing yet. After this we covered the chopped trunk with some wood and bark. My uncle said this will be ready sometime in January next year.

This is yours truly. I wore: one shirt, high neck, sweater, hoodie, neck warmer, baraclava, muffler, two pants (internal warm and external windproof) and faux-leather gloves. Lesson: wear a slimmer but good quality jacket!

Just to show you guys how we filtered the honey this is me doing it. Filtering is good but a good amount of honey is lost using this traditional approach. Another lesson learned.

And for those interested this is how I packed the orders for other members (they have been shipped).
1 packing PhotoGrid_1609133705044.jpg
For the shipping costs, shipping a 900-950gm (total weight post-packing) to Mumbai by Speed Post costs approx 150rs. The biggest order (1L) took almost 300rs.
Please don't ask me why the different coloration of the honey because I don't know. I think it might be due to the filtration or the hive or honey itself. The honey is red/brown/light orange'ish. It appears darker in pic due to poor camera quality.
I took more pics but in someone else phone and I forgot to take them. :|

That's caveman style honey hunting !! Nice.
Glad you liked it. It was really fun and also very very exhausting. I would totally shed some kgs if I do that everyday lol.
Also this particular hill we went to was the "nearer" one. The farthest ones take 1hr to 2hrs by motor vehicle on the motorable roads and then walking on foot up the hills.
I hope to go again next month. So please keep me busy by making orders and preorders. I realized it's a good way to get over the shit life's thrown at me. :angelic:

Hey guys, Happy New Year. I have good news.
2. WILD HONEY: The aunt veggie seller said they will harvest one of the wild hives tonight. The other one is apparently located much farther away. I want to go retrieve this one- both honey and the hive. This one is wild honey. And should cost easily 2500+ and selling in only 750ml. My mother said she will pay whatever she asks as long as I can join them in their little honey harvesting trip. The only problem is they will have broken apart the comb of the first one. Second hive is untouched.
The day before yesterday this aunt got in contact with us and told us that the villagers finally harvested the honey. I didn't go anymore due to health reasons. She also sent us some pics (but they are in another phone so I'll post them in the evening). They were able to harvest about 4-5L of wild honey (WOW! The hive was so huge!) and I got 3.5L. Slight issue is they didn't filter it properly and so its not 99% clean but still perfectly consumable. I've tasted it. I can ship it as it is or can also filter it but its going to take a pretty long time since I'll let gravity do its work. Its filtration by dripping and not pressing like the one I did in one of the pics above. Also I already have the honey with me.

So at present, I have 3.5L of fresh wild honey and 2x 750ml of old wild honey which is a bit (?) fermented. The latter fermented one is cleaner as it was properly filtered. I also have 500ml of honey from reared bees.
Price: 3200rs for a 1L of pure wild honey and 1700rs for 500ml of pure wild honey (both fermented and fresh). Personally I would buy the fermented one for adults and fresh one for family use. I loved the taste of the fermented one (no, I don't drink alcohol).
1200rs for 500ml of pure reared honey.

Edit: I thought I should explain why the wild honey cost much higher than the reared honey. Reared honey is taken from reared bees kept at home and as long as the bees developed the honey its easy to harvest. Whereas you cannot guarantee that you will find wild honey even if you go search for them since they are rare, not to forget their locations which takes one full day to search for them (and you may not even find any!) and they are usually located very far away. And so honestly saying, we actually are VERY lucky that we are getting pure wild honey even now. The latest hive which was harvested must not have been touched for a long time hence the big size. btw if you were wondering, a kilo of a small chunk of bee hive (big bee species I don't know what they are called in English) with the larvae inside costs 2000rs lol. And that hive will yield only a few larvae like not even a full tea cup lol. Not because the larvae taste delish (they do) but because of the rarity.

I thought some members might find the cost of 1L a bit high so I broke it down to 500ml.
So currently there are 7 slots opened for 500ml of fresh wild honey and 3 slots for 500ml of fermented wild honey and one slot for 500ml of pure reared honey.
11 slots for 11 members are opened in all. This is assuming there are more interested members. If not you can get 1L no problem.
UPTO to 11 members can order (500ml each). First come first booking basis. Please PM me for my bank account details.

Shipping is extra depending on the actual shipping cost (~150rs Speedpost for 500ml/950gm and ~300rs 1L packed). Shipping is at buyer's risk but I do my best in packing them (pics above). You will pay shipping after I actual shipped the orders.
To be transparent, I'm trying to make some profit from each sale to make up for my time and resources. I actually wanted to ask in the form of "donation" but that probably won't justify all the factors considered so I'm opting for a form of "commission" instead. I hope you guys will understand.

REQUESTS ARE NOW OPENED! So please let me know if anyone is interested. Please take this opportunity to get yourself pure honey from trusted source/s. I personally guarantee the purity. I wouldn't waste my time if they were not pure.
I may get new stock of honey from reared bees next week or so. I'm just waiting for word and I will go when my health gets better.

Thanks.

Received the package yesterday in bulletproof packaging (in fact postal people handled it well too because of packaging) and it tastes so good.

OP Thanks for your efforts.
Glad to know! I was a bit concerned because 1L was over a kilo weight. Thank you too! Delivery was faster than I expected. If you guys were wondering I shipped the package on the 26th Dec.
I also shipped some to Delhi and they have been received.
Just an update, I've also started filtering the new stock but filtering it only once. And admittedly its not as clean as I'd want it to be but still safe to consume. I'll post some pics when I can. They should be done soon.
I would've ideally liked to filter it directly into the requested volume (and as per the bottle) so would be great if interested members can put in orders as I plan to travel again soon. PM me for my bank account details with your requirement and option and shipping. You will make payment for the honey when ordering and will pay the shipping after I ship them.
Thanks again.

My shipment still says Item booked with no movement since Dec 26th.
It was same issue with mine, but tracking started working today when the parcel reached my district's sorting hub. Earlier, they would have showed all intermediate information as well, but seems they are only showing lesser information now, or package has been shipped this way only, with no intermediate stops.

Yes, I went to enquire it at the post office and I was told that the staff just might not have updated the tracking info. I blame the lazy employees. I think that the items have been shipped and might be somewhere in transit.
If you don't get it by this week, I'll go raise a complaint.

Update: reared honey out of stock.
Only the wild honey remain.
