WTB: 10, 20 or 40 GB IDE HDD

NO SATA!

This is because I need it just to boot the OS as I'll be backing up my stuff in DVDs...
For that matter even a 4GB HDD will do! hyeah:

I think it's 40GB for 700/- and not 120GB. Anyway, you won't always get such deals . Might be that the guy is in urgent need of cash.

Yes. Got the point..
But still 1200 for a 40GB HDD (plus shipping) is a bit on the higher side, considering you get a new 160GB IDE HDD for 2k!

Dude, since you just need to boot the OS to back up data,

Have u tried a LIVE Linux CD?

You could probably DL the PUPPY LINUX Live CD,or load onto a USB flash drive.Its hardly 80MB size and then Proceed to Backup the data to DVD

Trust me I have already done this last month when I Reformatted my whole HDD.

Heck i even booted the computer without any HDD present inside,simply off the USB pen drive.............Worth a shot,What say?
