Amazing market and Upgradeitis bug caught me too :( :( :(

Next month's salary is going to go into....

1: A decent Cabbie... Even if bargain price in new one will do...
A Lanboy, SLB or some decent cabbie will do... Post your prices
Budget less than 5K
2: RAM : 512 x 2 - Dual channel support - Transcend or some good make
Budget 4K
3: PSU : A decent > 450W PSU. Prefer Antech.... but open to offers

All the best :hap2: :hap2: :hap2:

^ If your budget for RAM is 4k , pick up a TwinMos (512MB x 2) pair. I heard these are selling new for only 1.8K x 2 = 3.6K , which is a neat price! :)

You can get a Antec Super Lanboy for 4.8k. Nice cabby imho:). If you want a bigger cabby try to get VIP ZB-01.

wow thats great... there was a great guy from pune who told about some dealers in pune for ram.... darn will have to find him to get to a good dealer in pune...

4.8k where ???

^ Any shop that deals with Antec in your area should get you a SLB for around or less than 5k. That is the prevailing market rate right now.

All your budgets are good enough for new stuff ;)

hey Anu,

SLB is 4.6k in Pune AFAIK!!

PM Appollyon and request for details of dealer, he is from Pune too!!:cool2:

Amol is selling his PC and if he sells Twinmos separately then you can bargain for a better deal than his asking rate of 3.5K, as new Twinmos is 1.8 per 512 stick!!
Then again, he has Mtec CADT!!

Transcend with samsung UCCC is 2K approx per stick of 512!!:)

Powersafes are also cheaper in Pune and a PS500 may be 2.5k or cheaper there!!:D

Your budget is more than enough for new stuff, but if you get cheaper deals here from members, money saved never hurts!!:ohyeah:

Of course i am.. But a noobe question... 20pin is for ATX boards??? Also tell me its ANTEC Smart Power SP 400 v2.0 ???

20 pin is ATX 2.0 compatible but there is a difference between ATX 2.0 and ATX 1.whatever .. the newer standard comes with a 24 pin connector supports dual rails of +12v so there is a better distribution of power to the major components such as your processor. however 24 pin boards are backwards compatible with 20 pin psu's. so no issues there.

And 20 pin is not at all bad if u dont have a real high end rig .. if u have a mainstream rig then i can guarantee this psu wont create any probs.. see my sig .. i am using this psu on that rig and without any probs. and i already mentioned that it has almost 2 years warranty remaining on it.

see this thread for further details on the ratings of the psu n all,
http://www.techenclave.com/forums/fs-antec-sl400-4oow-psu-smartpower-67837.html

i had got the thread locked as i was not able to find a buyer :(

hey mohit... and others....

Like it is mentioned in your thread...max power 400W... If such a good PSU from ANtec is delivering below the rating.... Then how good normal PSU stand ??? I read a thread by Anish... He mentioned lots of PSU to be beware of... But market regulars like Intex,Frontech how do they perform ???

@Mohit check your pm

Code:
Hey mohit... I am interested in your PSU... But consider these... I am
almost a noobie...out of touch for some time... I know 400W is enough for a
desktop rig... I am building a rig... Pro + Mobo is AMD 64 +ASUS A8V Deluxe...
Other than these i do not plan to add graphics... I plan to add a DVD Writer...
Thats all... No Soundcard, TV Tuner etc.... Do sincerely tell me is this PSU
more than enough for this config ??? Even if i upgrade to a Mid Range
Graphics card + TV Tuner will i need to change the PSU ??? Also i am getting
SLB Cabbie.... so that would put load of 2/3 80mm/120mm fans.... I just want
to have abundant power....

Please guide me...
ok guys this is the pm i got from josh.anu ..

I am quoting it here coz i want everybody to answer to his query rather than me only so that he can feel safe to buy my psu or not as everyone will give their suggestions.

According to me , for the rig u have mentioned i.e

A64 + Asus A8V-Deluxe + DVD-RW + 2-3 Fans + Regular stuff + Mid range gpu such as 6600GT + TV Tuner etc

My PSU will be more than enough to handle this rig easily.

What do u guys say ? Please give him a honest opinion and dont bother of ruining my sale or something.

Should do fine unless the buyer is going to do some heavy oc'ing on his rig. A member here anish was running his 3200+ a8v 6800nu on a 350W antec.

No heavy OCing blady....
But just want a safe 24x7x365 PSU.....:P :P :P

if anish was running that rig on a 350W antec then i can bet that my psu will be good enough for josh.anu .. others also please comment on this. thanks.

btw do u plan to overclock ur rig heavily josh.anu ??

EDIT : Sorry just saw ur last post .. btw trust me .. u can easily run that rig without ocing on my psu. 24*7*365 .. :)

wait for others also to reply before making ur decision buddy.

well considering Antec, u would be good even with an OCed pc for 24 x 7 usage including a gfx card, so imo its a good psu to buy keeping your usage in mind...
