As now i have a broadband connection at home :clap:

i need a splitter / filter for bsnal broadband.

its kind of a parallel connector but with a port filtering data and a port filtering voice signals

its not available here locally.

the buggers of bsnl say that if you have your own modem you have to have splitter of your own.

does any one have any spare or if someone going to lamington can do me a favour and purchase for me i am ready to pay shipping as well as purchase price.

PS : its available on ebay is it worth / reliable / safe purchasing from there?
 
yup no probs getting it from ebay ....

which is your modem ... usually now the modem contains an in-built splitter in that case u dont need one ... to check see if the modem has two phone ports one should be --line-- other would be --phone-- check it out ...

i ve D-link GLB-202T which has in-built splitterr ....
 
There are two types of spiltter available in the market in Kolkata. One simple Rs.70 and otherone rs.250/- with some circitry built-in. I have purchaed both and found purformance same.
 
Splitter is used so ur net doesn't disconnect when u recieve a call. I got mine for 100 bucks. Similar to the one BSNL gives.. not sure what "Performance" here is supposed to mean. The net stays on even when i recieve a call. Enough performance for me :P

Shall I ask my airtel guy to get one ?

He will give me for free... I ask him to keep on changing it monthly or so..coz of rust n extra issues...as its in balcony
 
Same position as u buddy ... Got a Netgear wifi thing and the bundled filter doesnt work ... cud only find the cheapo ones from Nehru Place, Delhi. I think (may be wrong) the 'better' ones split the line AND act as noise filters while the cheapos just split the line. The cheapo I found at NP did nothing for Noise Margin.....and it conked in 3-4 months anyways .

i ordered through ebay on 24/11 it costed me 50 bucks including shipping. today only i got it and right now its working fine.

as from your posting i infer you are in Delhi, i am sure there must a lot of shops in NP who do stock this it should cost anything between 35 / 125 bucks range (thats insane i know :P)

ps : my purpose is served mods please lock this thread. thanks.
