why dont u try opteron. I have one 165. Just check for the reviews google about this baby u will come to know.

Thanks I did check your thread, and the dual core Opty 165 is really nice, but as from all the reviews, the Opty's are best for overclocking, and I do not know the O in overclocking, so looking for something more cheaper like a X2 3800, thanks for your offer.

hey tommy
i think you should get the opteron 165. its damn good. i had to make a similar purchase a few weeks ago and i chose the opteron 165 over the x2 3800+ because of the larger l2 cache and the superb overclocking ! @ stock its 1.8 ghz but ive oc'd this thing to 2.8 ghz with really dumb ram ! and it runs at about the same temperature and voltage too. it had been recommended to me by blade runner and im glad i took his advice.
you can buy it from "Mnemonic systems" - 9820063585 (ashish modi). he quoted the opty 165 @ 9.75 k and got down to 9.6 eventually. the x2 3800+ was @ 9.5 k (not much cheaper) but he said he'd go down by a few hundered there too, and the best part... free home delivery. personally, i think the opteron 165 rocks but if you really arent overclocking the x2 would be better for you.

hope this helped.
