Anyone having the cheapo CPU fan w/o the heatsink that came OEM with the Athlon XP 2400+ CPU ? The CPU fan in my in-laws rig has conked out & it has to be up & running asap.

Will do an ICICI transfer once the deal is done.

just remove the old fan and screw any new one on top of the heatsink. even an 80mm case fan will do...thats what i have on my old rig, and it cools better than the oem fan. but, get some rubber spacers to minimise noise.

You can get the fan from any electronic parts shop in your city... they usually have an assortment of sizes but hardly comes with the connectors.... So you can solder the connector from your dead fan to the new one...

Just make sure its a 12volts fan...it will definitely work.....:hap2:

have original cooler master fan with heat sink for your AMD Socket 462 (Socket-A)....well it placed in box from last 3 years(not used) let me check the working condition..:)
