I'm looking to buy a second phone. Currently using a Nokia 2323, which doubles up as an EDGE modem over bluetooth and its been doing its job perfectly as a basic but reliable and sturdy phone with an excellent battery life.
The new phone should fulfill the following needs:
Budget: No limit as such, but looking at my requirements you can see that I'm looking for maximum VFM and cheaper is better as long as it fulfills my needs properly.
The new phone should fulfill the following needs:
- Dual SIM would be nice
- Should have music player and good sound quality. This will be replacing my aging 4 year old Transcend T-Sonic 610.
- Main reason for above is my MP3 player lacks speakers. Phone needs to have good speakers. Stuff like Dual Speakers will be welcome... (for bathroom karaoke
)
- Memory Card support. Better if it supports bigger sizes like 4GB, 8GB, etc.
- Camera is nice but not that important.
- Phone should be reliable in long term. Expecting to use it for atleast 4 years as an MP3 player.
- Good battery life when using MP3 player.
- Stuff like PC-Teethering for internet, bluetooth, GPRS, Radio I already have in my main phone. So these features are not THAT important.
- Will be good if phone can run WITHOUT SIM or has a flight mode inbuilt so I can safely use mp3 player without worrying about radiation.
- SAR Rating should be low if the phone does not have the above mentioned capability
- User Interface should not suck, the way some like Karbonn phones do.
- QWERTY I'm not comfortable with yet, but wouldn't mind buying one just to get used to the format. Otherwise I need T9.
- I would appreciate a feature in the phone like an Answering Machine.
- Willing to wait a month or two if a new phone is coming out soon.
