Laptops WTB Dell Inspiron 700m RAM in India?

I have an age old Dell Inspiron 700m laptop with 512mb RAM. Of late its gotten very slow and im thinking of adding RAM to speed it up. I have searched a bit but unable to find an online store which has it. Since I dont have a PaisePay acc im not looking to buy in ebay india.
Pls advise where to get the RAM and any other suggestions to speed up the system.

DDR1 Ram is what you need i Guess. DDR1 Laptop RAM's are Hard to Find in the market. 1GB costs around 1700.

iirc i have read somewhere that it requires a ddr2 ram...correct me if im wrong.

Its DDR1 - would suggest to install puppy linux and use it
