I have to buy a tablet within 5~6k. The requirements being Build quality, reliability, performance and battery life in that order.I have shortlisted the following tablets:-
  1. Micromax funbook
  2. Lava E-tab
  3. Ainol Paladin
  4. Ainol nova 7 tornado
  5. iBerry Auxux AX01
  6. Domo Slate

Which of the above should I buy?

+1 for MM Funbook 7" . Got one. Got the mod and it is good. Though many have a problem with its battery & after sales service.

No idea on the 10" model. Am waiting for any release from Asus/Google.

Some of the above tablets like the Ainol nova 7 tornado and the iBerry Auxux AX01 have better specs don't they? The Micromax has a paltry 2800 mAh battery.

Well sorry I don't know no more on this than you.
What I wanted to say was that iBerry & Ainol would be avoided by many since they have no proper After sales service and lean towards Micromax since they have service in India.
But after their poor response, I would say all three are par on terms with after sales service.

Hence your choice should be iBerry one. I think you are way better off to get the 10" models rather than 7" ones.
Wait for experts to reply to your queries.

I finalized the iberry after I saw the specs. has anyone got it here?

Got one a few days back when they were running this promo offer (Tablet+Screenguard+Velvety Pouch+Stylus for 5990 Rs.). A 10% coupon further brought down the cost :D.

I went for it mainly because of the specs and the price i was getting it for. The Tab looks pretty good. Is much lighter than Micromax Funbook (a friend who owns the MMX FB concurs so). One thing that bothered me big time was the screenguard that the Tab sported out of the box. It made the touch response heavy and sluggish. However, removing it and applying another normal one did the job for me. The touch response is quite smooth now.
Also, i found the screen on the MMX FB slightly better. The colors on it appear slightly richer while the brightness levels too seemed a tad better than the iBerry. However again i feel it is a fair trade off for the price i got it for. Talking of trade-offs, the Tab does come with 1 gig of RAM (compared to 512 MB on most other Tabs in this price range including the FB) . There is no apparent sluggishness on the Tab so far although i must tell you that i haven't installed many apps (OTB the Tab had only a couple of third-party apps installed while i installed another 20 or so later on) or even a single game so far. But the extra RAM should help no doubts.
Haven't had enough time with the Tab to comment on the battery but i would put it at about 4 hours for normal usage. This could be more as well but again i can't say for sure. The friend who has the FB too put the battery life at about 3-4 hours. So while the specs (4000 vs. 2800 mAH) point to a clear winner, things appear much closer in real life.

EDIT: The ASS part on the iBerry's is a bit dicey but they do offer pick-up and drop service in most cities of India (this could be verified by checking your PIN code on their website). Service centers are located in most of the major cities as well.

I bought the iBerry auxus and pushed a colleague to get one as well used the 10% off max 1000 off a minimum purchase of 7500 and above. the tablet worked out to 5490. I am waiting for it to be delivered by Tuesday. Will review it then.
