I use a Zalman 7000cu HSF on my P4C800ED 478 board and I read that this HS is NOT recommended for Prescott CPU's. Zalman's are not normally available locally.

I recently bought a Coolermaster Hyper 48 HSF for 2.5K for use on my next setup - an AMD system. This HSF attachs to 478/775/939 boards.

well its quite good, but i havent really oced with it coz of my intel 865 board :(

temps drop against the stock heatsink of the prescott is about 5-8 C so that says enough for itself, u can check out the review link that i gave above, good performer..

oh and its about 3 months old at max....

No it seems that the Zalmans 7000 series HS cannot handle the high temps the Precotts reach on load. The 7700 series can probably handle the Prescotts.

I bought the Coolermaster from SMC Delhi they were about 600/- cheaper than buying it from Mumbai :)

P4P800 Dlx, Zalman 7000Alcu and P4 2.4C (Northwood). It is upto you to believe the temps reported by Asus Probe!! Current room temp around 14-15C.

WTF!!!! Awesome temps!!!

If Asus Prbe is reporting it correctly i.e :P I mean, even I am getting my lowest temps as yet with the winter, but the CPU being only 1 degree more is Awesome but not impossible!!!!

HEY NIKHIL.... PSSSST !! .....keep this under your hat - dont tell anyone .... these ASUS boards - Count's P4P and my P4C are know to give a 8C lower CPU temp reading.... Anandtech said so ..... ASUS = cheaters.....makes our readings look nice and low :D

lol....

But I dont think it is true for all Asus boards. I get 39 deg C on load with Xp-120 and Side panel open at night(when the room temp is around 20 or so.) The speed is 2.45 ghz @ 1.6V.

I dont think the CPU is really running at 47 deg C :P
