Hey guys, is the X2 3600+ avaialable anywhere? I was told by a dealer that he'll be getting these soon and priced at around 7.5k (its an AM2 part only.) I was surprised, coz afaik it hasnt been launched by amd into retail.

the x2 3600+is available at delta for 12k with some asus integrated gfx mobo. also a 3000+ and the same mobo is 9k. i couldnt get the separate prices but i think u can get an indicator. all of them are socket am2

I think it's available here in New Delhi at SMC International, not sure about the price though.

Eitherway its crap at stock speeds, unless you're planning to overclock it.

Wouldnt say its crap at stock speeds.....The processor is meant to bring Dual Core chips to the masses....and it performs a little less than X2 3800+ and it brings good performance for that price!!

X2 3600+ is a lot better than a Pentium D which ppl still gonna buy for what reason, only GOD knows!!

Considering E6300's aren't pricey, it makes 3600+ a lame duck.

ROObish chip.

I guess the Rs.2200/- price difference between the processors does make something to think about. Also mobo prices are less for X2 3600+ compared to E6300 boards... The price diff together is some Rs.6000 and that is quite a lot of money......So X2 3600+ is a good choice for a lot of ppl!! Also...X2 3600+ was to fight the Pentium D processors!!

MSI P965 Platinum is for what 7.5k?

And whatever, Conroe is far better deal than AMD X2's.
