Here's what 1up had to say about the game that they gave a perfect score:

Each stage is memorable. Even as I write this a week after beating the campaign, I can recall dozens of "oh wow" moments, like the first time I encountered the shrieking wretches (that horrible noise they make will haunt you for days). Or when the blind, hulking berserker was stalking me by sound and smell alone. Or the part where I was defending my old home from a Locust onslaught (it felt like a smaller scale, more domesticated version of Lord of the Rings' Battle of Helm's Deep). Or when I looked at the face of an apartment complex, and dozens of drones were firing at me through the windows, their muzzle flashes strobe-lighting the darkness like we were on a CNN newscast, live from some war-torn third-world country. Or the parts where I have to blow up propane tanks because staying in the light will keep the flesh-tearing Kryll at bay.... They all combine for an unforgettable adventure through 36 hectic, desperate hours of a group of soldiers' lives.

first of all finally good to be back after a long hiatus..........just saw a gears of war video last week on Gamer TV and it looked friggin amazing !!!!!........the gore and stuff.....
 
Great news for the 360. Killer titles do always have a tendency for appearing a little later in a consoles life.

you will be getting an Xbox360 console free from your uncle in the US which means you can afford to spend YOUR money on this game ;)

Heheh :bleh: , ofcourse this definitely will be the next purchase for the X360.
 
I have got bunch of 360 games and will be getting my Gears of War by this week. I can post some reviews but no has a 360 so i doubt anyone is interested...

Well, a software exclusive to the platform, that is alone worth the reason to buy that platform just for the software.

There is a difference between great, excellent games, and a Killer App. GoW may be one.

Why do I get the idea you people think I have something against GoW! Its been great so far and definitely would be the next title I get for the X360, it was just a question. Not every game which scores 9 on all reviews are killer apps you know. It all depends if GoW is able to get people to buy an X360 just so they can play the game, if it does this, it rightfully deserves this killer title.

It certainly seems that way with GOW. At least the sales will clarify that.
